MESSAGE FROM PASTOR BOB

Pastor Robert Butler, Manhattan United Methodist Church, Manhattan, Illinois
Pastor Robert Butler
So you're looking for a church? I'm probably a bit biased, but I don't believe you will find a better church in Manhattan than the Manhattan UMC. We are a small yet growing community of Christian believers who are trying to fulfill God's mission for us here on earth.

We understand our vision and mission, as the "Sharing of God's love through Christian teaching, service and worship." We share God's love in a multitude of ways. We currently offer opportunities for all ages to learn about God, His Son and the Holy Spirit. We offer Sunday school for children and adults, a 5th through 9th grade youth group, adult Bible studies, Christian discussion groups, Disciple Bible study and Alpha. We also give our spiritual support to other positive growth experiences because we realize God reaches each of us differently. Currently, we are proud to offer our facility to a number of organizations which share our penchant for positively serving the community.

We believe God's mission through the saving act of Jesus Christ requires us to move beyond our four walls so, in addition to the activities within our building, we also support local, national and international missions. We have an exciting local mission program which provides several opportunities to get involved. We are proud to partner with local organizations like Daybreak and the Joliet mission. We also financially support and have participated in international mission projects. We have sent people from our church on international missions to Haiti, Paraguay, and Joy in the Harvest based in Tanzania. We have helped support Cayce Charities in Arkansas, Heifer International, Shoebox Christmas and Operation Care in support of our troops overseas.

Due in part to our better understanding of God's love through our learning opportunities and our service projects, we are a community of believers who love to worship God in many forms. Our Sunday service is at 9 am. It is a traditional Christian service with a variety of music, Gospel readings and reflective preaching.

If you're searching for significance in your life and feel like you are missing something, please stop by the God shop over on M&M street (335 E. North Street or Manhattan-Monee Road) and experience the sweetest congregation in the area.

Blessings as you walk the path that leads to Him,
Pastor Bob

Our mission is to change lives by sharing God's love through Christian teaching, service, and worship.
